Mohammed Ridha Kechrid, Tunisia's Minister responsible for the public health, recently took part in the Euromediterranean conference called “Financing health sector and economic development,” which took place from April 8 to April 10. The minister made two presentations on "the mechanisms of rationalization of the expenditure of health" and "globalization and health sector: issues and prospects." Kechrid reviewed the Tunisian approach in the health sector stressing that their aim is to improve the living conditions of the Tunisians, to bring better medical benefits for the citizens and to support the optimal use of new technologies in the health sector. <i>La Presse</i> reports that Mohammed Ridha Kechrid also took part in the work of a high level commission charged to supervise the project of the virtual euromediterranean hospital, which focuses on the use of new communication and information technologies in the health sector.
