The first Gulf Woman's Real Estate Festival ended after three days on March 30 in Riyadh. There was a weak attendance of woman and Gulf companies, which did not match expectations, especially considering the special attention it received in the media, reported Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper on March 31, 2005.
Nawal al-Rashed, which was responsible for the public relations of this event, said that there were 17 participating sides in the festival, since three companies cancelled their participation before the event starts for "pure technical reasons." The participants did not fulfill expectations due to the short time they had to prepare – just two weeks. Another reason for the festival relative failure was its co-occurrence with the real estate festival in Medina, in which 70 large real estate companies took part.
