Yemen fish exports up

The fish exports of Hodeida during the first quarter of 2005 increased by 50% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Local sources said that 520,258 tons of fish at a cost of $4,500,000 were exported in the first quarter of the current year.

 

"The fishes exported included shrimp, cuttlefish, shark and swordfish, " SABA reported.

 

Meanwhile, the simultaneous catch in the Red Sea waters amounted to 5,006,251 tons.
