Airstrikes across northern Syria killed over 40 people Thursday, Reuters reports. Activists on the ground say most casualties were civilians.
On Wednesday, 15 people were killed during air raids in northern Aleppo, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The Syrian opposition has repeatedly asked for anti-aircraft weaponry to battle Assad’s superior air force. Syria has been embroiled in a brutal civil war since 2011 that has left over 150,000 people dead and millions displaced.
