Egyptian actress Pusy has submitted an application to the Musicians Association to request permission to sing, as a first step toward releasing an album next Fitr feast.
“I have started choosing eight songs to be recorded on the new album,” Pusy told the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat, adding that the production company would be the same one that released Yusra’s album three weeks ago.
The artist said that her husband, Noor Al Sharif, was the first one who to discove the beauty of her voice and its suitability for singing. She denied rumors that Sharif had been horrified by the idea.
“I have received a generous offer to perform a daily musical concert at one of the grand hotels, but I have refused so that singing won’t trip up my original acting profession,” added Pusy.
“The success of Yusra in her singing experience prompted me to go for it,” Pusy added. “I have even agreed to sing three songs in one of the TV series I am costarring in.”
The Musicians Association is expected to give its final decision on Pusy’s application by the end of this week - Albawaba.com
