Whether an Omani national was living in Oman or outside, they were celebrating the sultanate's 29th Independence Day this week. Omani female students studying at the Ajman Science and Technology University in the UAE marked the occasion by watching a video about the history of their country, its future and its accomplishment under the leadership of Sultan Qaboos.
According to Al-Watan newspaper, many officials and university staff participated, including the university's rector and his wife. In Oman itself, the undersecretary of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ali Bin Masaoud Al-Sneidy, celebrated by inaugurating a new iron manufacturing and metal casting factory in the Al-Wadi Al-Kabeer (Big Valley) Industrial Estate.
