Egyptian singer Shireen Abd Al Wahab denied rumors that she is banned from singing in Sudan. Shireen posted on her official page on the internet social website Facebook that all that was said about her scheduled performance on April 16 in Khartoum to celebrate Spring holidays being called off because of the ban is not true..
Shireen wrote on her page that the organizing committee for her concert had informed her that due to security issues in Sudan and instability, it is very difficult to hold a performance and provide the necessary protection for her and that is why the concert was called off.
The singer said that she hopes the press would validate their news before posting lies that serve no purpose. She added that the relationship between her and government officials in Sudan is based on respect and there is no reason for her to be banned.
