The Iran deal has been picking up steam ever since it's safe passage through Congress on Thursday. After that, US Preident Barack Obama met with Saudi Arabian leadership, who have expressed worry over the impending deal. And US Secretary of State John Kerry has been meeting with Israeli counterparts to discuss Israel's safety should the deal go through.
At the heart of it all, the agreement hinges on what happens at the Senate, whose members are currently expected to form a resolution of disapproval to kill the Iran deal. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid suggested over the weekend Democrats would not block a final vote if key Republicans agreed to a higher threshold for passage.
Complicating things more is the fact that Obama already has enough votes for a presidential veto of the potential resolution, but is still three backers away from the 41 Senate members needed to make sure it never gets formed at all.
Obama may have won Congress, but it's still anyone's game. The social media sphere tells a different story. We've pulled up a few quips just from the last couple hours.
All these things are very important. But in the meantime, watch The Onion explain the nuclear warfare the Iran deal's harshest critics keep prophesying, because most things are better when the Onion explains them to you.
If you support #IranDeal, you have no right to be outraged by #RefugeeCrisis in #Europe becoz #Iran is no.1 backer of Assad regime in #Syria

Perspective: Iran deal is putting out a house fire in a city that is in flames. Problem: resident of the house is also an arsonist.

For some on the Left, capitalism is bad, except when it involves the Iran deal, then capitalism and trade is great for some reason...
