Despite heavy NATO attacks, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi vowed to never surrender and said he would fight to the death. In an audio speech aired by state television, the Libyan leader said: "We only have one choice: we will stay in our land dead or alive."
Gaddafi urged his supporters to flock to his Bab al-Aziziya compound which was bombed several times by NATO air strikes on Tuesday. He said: "We will not surrender, we welcome death. Martyrdom is a million times better."
NATO officials said that they were increasing the intensity of their two-month campaign to oust Gadhafi.
