Emirates Palace announced a special weekend package that combines luxurious hospitality with a world-class entertainment experience via the Middle East premiere of AIDA Monumental Opera on Fire on 29 March 2007 live and open air at the West Park of the iconic luxury property.

Noel Massoud, general manager Emirates Palace, guarantees guests a spectacular weekend: “Guests can look forward to an exceptional stay at Emirates Palace, with the ultimate in Arabian hospitality and an entertainment experience they will forever remember.”

AIDA is a massive theatrical production featuring a 300-member crew, state-of-the-art set technology, and a spectacular show of unique fire images and stunning special effects. Dubbed the ‘opera of all operas’, AIDA tells the history of the Egyptian general Radames, who falls in love with the slaved Ethiopian princess Aida, although he is already promised to Amneris, the daughter of the Pharaoh. An interplay of passionate love and political constraints determines the tragic course of history.

For AED1960*, guests can avail of an overnight stay for two at the Coral Room, two grand stand tickets to the opera, plus a sumptuous brunch at Le Vendome Restaurant.  At a slightly higher rate, AED2510*, guests can have the AIDA Diamond package, which offers an overnight stay for two at the Diamond Room, two centre section grand stand tickets to the opera, and a generous brunch the day after. Finally, for the ultimate royal experience, guests can avail of the Aida Al Khaleej Package for AED6200*, featuring an overnight stay for two at a Khaleej Suite, two Coral tickets to see the opera, and a lavish brunch on the following day. Packages can be booked through the Emirates Palace reservation number: 02 690 8888.

The Franz Abraham production featuring the music of renowned Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi is being staged in association with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority. Main sponsors are AlDar, Etihad Airways as the official carrier, First Gulf Bank, and IPIC.
