The Egyptian actor, Ahmed Saqa, proved his acting abilities in the number eight movie ‘Short Ou Fanella Ou Cap,’ (Short, Shirt and Cap) on the top ten chart. Saqa won the acclaim of many Egyptian film critics for his immaculate performance in the film directed by Sa’eed Hamed and written by Madhat Adel, according to AFP.
Critic Tarek Shanawi explained that, “The film was a transitional step for Saqa since it lifted him from a supporting actor as Mohammed Heneidi’s Sa’eedi in the American University and Hammam in Amsterdam, to a leading star in Shorts, Shirt and Cap.” He added saying,” Saqa’s unique physical flexibility will contribute in making him a star in the Egyptian movie industry.”
The marvelously woven script had a role in putting Saqa in the glare of publicity, by exposing a romantic love story presented by a closely-knit group of friends who had a common interest in politics and humor.
The scenes take place in Sinai and Sharem Alsheikh, and tell the story of an Arab minister’s daughter (Lebanese actress Noora) who falls in love with an Egyptian tour guide (Egyptian actor, Ahmad Saqa) during her stay in Sinai with her dad (Syrian actor, Saleem Class) who is on a political mission that aims to unite the Arabic market.
AFP reported that the scenes build in intensity to sardonically depict the struggle among high-ranking officials and their irrationality in dealing with a simple growing emotional affair between the tour guide and the Arab minister’s daughter who eloped with him.
The satirical nature of the scenes encompasses national security officials who perceive the girl’s elopement as a terrorist act disregarding the emotional and humanistic ground of the young couple’s relationship, and therefore torture the friends of the tour guide.
In addition to the originality of the script, Short, Shirt and Cap portrays the beauty of the desert and the underwater world of the Red Sea. Some of its scenes were filmed underwater-AFP
