ALBAWABA - According to a report by the Syrian news agency SANA, a Syrian soldier and several others were injured in a series of Israeli strikes on the capital Damascus, and Homs countryside.
SANA's report revealed that some of the strikes targeted the neighborhood of Kafr Sousa in Damascus, inflicting massive damage to the stricken area. At the same time, a Syrian soldier was killed in a strike that hit a military post in Homs' countryside.
"At around 03:40 a.m. on Thursday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan and from the direction of northern Lebanon, targeting two points in Kafr Sousa neighborhood in Damascus and one of the military points in Homs countryside," A military source told SANA commenting on the overnight Israeli strikes.
These strikes come at times as Israel intensified its attacks on surrounding countries. Syria's defense ministry stated two people were killed in an Israeli attack that struck a car earlier on Monday.
Syrian official media said that a vehicle detonated in Damascus' Mazzeh area, which houses embassies and security headquarters.
"At approximately 17:05 pm, the Israeli enemy launched an air strike targeting a civilian car in the residential neighborhood of Mazzeh in Damascus, killing two civilians and injuring three," a statement from the ministry said.
