12 dead, including 9 students, in Oman's flash floods

ALBAWABA - 12 deaths were recorded as a result of people being swept away in their vehicles, including two citizens and 9 students in addition to a resident Samad Al Shan region in Oman.

Oman's Search and Rescue Sector of the National Emergency Management System announced that rescue workers are searching for 5 other missing people in the state of Al-Mudhaibi

The operations center received more than 25 reports yesterday, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., that varied between vehicles drifting and people being detained in vehicles, in addition to some corals entering homes and shops, local media reported.

A spokesperson for the Joint Media Center at the National Center for Emergency Management said that the center received a report that several students and teaching staff were stuck in a school in Oman and that they were all rescued. 

Many governorates in Oman witnessed rainfall and floods of varying intensity as a result of the weather conditions, which began to affect most of the governorates and will continue until next Wednesday.
