ALBAWABA - According to Al Arabiya, the Iraqi court has sentenced the daughter of former ISIS leader Abu Bakr Baghdadi, Omaima, to life in prison.

The news emerged after an Iraqi court had sentenced Al Baghdadi's widow to death after she was caught in Turkey earlier in February. According to Iraqi News Agency (INA), she received the sentence after being prosecuted for "cooperating with ISIS".

The court released a statement saying that Al Baghdadi's widow was complicit in detaining Yazidi women in her house, who were later abducted by ISIS militants in the Sinjar district of the Nineveh Governorate.

In November of 2019, Turkish authorities announced detaining her along with 10 other people, with one of his daughters believed to be among those who were detained.
