Affno, a leading eGovernment software solutions provider, received a special memento from His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Bin Ateyatallah Al Khalifa Minister of Cabinet Affairs at a formal ceremony following the recent release of the UN’s eGovernment Readiness Report for 2010. The award was accepted by Kevin Kumarasinghe, Affno’s Country Manager for Bahrain in the presence of Mr. Mohammed Ali Al-Qaed, Chief Executive Officer of the eGovernment Authority in Bahrain.
The outstanding progress the Kingdom has made in the field of ICT, and eGovernment in particular, was clearly evidenced as Bahrain placed 1st in the Middle East, 3rd in Asia, and 13th internationally in the UN report which was released last month.
Commenting on the award, Mr. Kumarasinghe said, “We are extremely honored to be associated with the leading entity such as the eGovernment of Authority in Bahrain, and hope that this recognition will serve as a springboard for future similarly successful partnerships with other organizations in the GCC and wider MENA market.”
Affno, which recently established its regional headquarters in Bahrain, has scored several high profile deployments in several regions since its establishment in the year 2000. The company’s award-winning products - such as its Mobile Portal Manager & Mobile Messaging Manager - provide the platform for the eGovernment Authority’s national mobile portal. As of the end of January, 33 services have been successfully integrated and launched through the portal.
