Meanwhile, United States President Barack Obama on Tuesday restated his support for the protestors in Iran but said this is not a U.S. issue: “The last thing that I want to do is to have the United States be a foil for those forces inside Iran who would love nothing better than to make this an argument about the United States…We Shouldn’t be playing into that. There should be no distractions from the fact that Iranian people are seeking to let their voices be heard.”
And in Tehran, Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has proposed curbing the country's diplomatic ties with London to the level of Charge d'Affair, said a parliamentarian in the commission on Tuesday. According to ISNA, it was proposed to curb the level of bilateral relations due to London "interference and ill-will" stances regarding the elections and its aftermath, he said. According to him, the Iranian ambassador to London will be summoned to Iran for further studies on the proposal.
