Ahrar leader Ayad Jamal Aldin today called on the nations involved in the war of 2003, to start the immediate clear up of the depleted weapons grade materials which are poisoning the children of Iraq.

Recent reports from Iraqi health officials have suggested that the numbers of children being born with abnormalities and deformities, as well as soft-tissue cancers is increasing and many attribute this, to depleted uranium from weapons used in conflict.

Responding to the reports, Ayad Jamal Aldin said "The US and UK have a particular responsibility in this regard and upon my travelling to London and Washington, I will be pressing those I meet to play an equitable role in helping rid the Iraqi nation of these unseen menaces."

"Children are being born with abnormalities and deformities which will live with them forever. It is only fair and reasonable that the countries who helped remove Saddam Hussein help to clean up the mess left."

Ahrar is calling upon the US and the UK to provide more funding to help Iraq clean up the threats left by toxic chemicals in its soil and water.
