Air France Concorde flights are to remain suspended because aircraft experts have been unable to decide on increased security measures following last week's crash, a spokesman for France's civil aviation authority said Monday.

The fleet of five Concordes will remain grounded "till further notice," the spokesman for the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) said.

He said British and French experts who have been meeting to review Concorde security were unable to draw up new safety guidelines because investigators had yet to establish the exact cause of the crash.

All 109 passengers and crew and four people on the ground were killed a week ago when the Air France Concorde crashed shortly after take-off from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.

British Airways, the only other airline to use the supersonic jet, has continued to fly its fleet of seven Concordes - PARIS (AFP)
