Moroccan Foreign Minister Muhammad Benaissa on Saturday held talks with Algerian officials, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations troubled by the two nation's dispute over the Western Sahara.
According to the Kuwait news agency, after arriving in Algiers Saturday, Benaissa privately met with his Algerian counterpart Abdulaziz Bilkhadem, and was expected to meet President Abdel Aziz Bouteflika later on.
Upon his arrival in the Algerian capital's airport earlier Saturday, the Moroccan Foreign Minister told the press that both countries hoped this visit would lead to establishing sound bilateral cooperation.
He also said that his visit was in response to an invitation extended by Bilkhadem during the latter's visit to Morocco earlier this year. (Albawaba.com)
