Algerian foreign minister Abdel Aziz Belkhadem, who arrived in Oman on Saturday for a two-day official visit, held talks with his Omani counterpart Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah on Israeli aggression on the Palestinians, the Oman News Agency reported.

Talks also dealt with various regional, international issues and bilateral relations.

Belkhadem held discussions with the Omani Prime Minister, Fahd bin Mahoud al Said, on ways of advancing economic cooperation.

Furthermore, the two sides discussed the outcome of a meeting of the Algerian-Omani joint committee, held in December 1999.

In a statement upon his arrival to Muscat, Belkhadem said that his visit aimed at promoting bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that he would head his country's delegation at meetings of the Omani-Algerian committee to review cooperation. (Albawaba.com)
