AMD (NYSE: AMD) hosted a press conference at Computex today in which AMD’s latest full range product portfolio of processors were demonstrated with the highlight of AMD LIVE! solutions. AMD executives from the headquarters and regional heads including Dirk Meyer, AMD president and chief operating officer; Henri Richard, executive vice president and chief sales and marketing Officer; Phil Hester, senior vice president and chief technology officer; Bob Brewer, corporate vice president of the desktop division for the microprocessor solutions sector; Karen Guo, corporate vice president and president of Greater China and K J Chou, vice president of Greater China technology center of excellence and Taiwan applications and test services, are joined by numbers of key technology partners at the event.
AMD will continue showcasing its latest solutions at Computex Taipei 2006 from June 6 to June 10 in Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). On June 7, the AMD Mobile Computing Technology Media Briefing will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Taipei, where IT industry leaders will join to discuss the powerful, customer-focused solutions that AMD64 mobile computing technology delivers.
In his address at the press event, Henri Richard highlighted AMD’s leadership in dual-core technology, its strong momentum with customers, as well as AMD’s commitment to deliver a smart digital entertainment experience with a broad range of solution providers for end-users worldwide.

On May 16, AMD unveiled its energy efficient desktop processor roadmap. These new processors can deliver greater performance-per-watt over AMD’s standard power desktop processors and reduce power consumption in active and idle states. AMD also introduced socket AM2 processors on May 23 across all desktop processors: AMD Athlon 64 FX, AMD Athlon 64 X2, AMD Athlon 64, and AMD Sempron. New socket AM2 processors are designed to deliver high-performance, unbuffered DDR2 memory and AMD Virtualization.
AMD LIVE! PCs are expected to enable smart digital entertainment by delivering a full-featured media center PC, ready for multiple simultaneous tasks and advanced multimedia thanks to the AMD64 dual-core processor. Combined with the new AMD LIVE! Entertainment Suite, a collection of applications and services available at www.amdlive.com, the AMD LIVE!
