Armstrong Wins Third Stage to Take Race Lead

Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong of the United States took the lead in the Dauphine Libere cycling race in Saint-Chamond, France, Wednesday, when he won the third stage. 

Riding for the US Postal team Armstrong took the overall leader's blue and yellow jersey from Spaniard Alberto Lopez de Munain following the 35.7km time-trial between Saint-Etienne and Saint-Chamond. 

The 28-year-old Armstrong recorded a time of 46min 56sec, with Spaniard Haimar Zubeldia 21sec behind the leader and American teammate Tyler Hamilton a further 10sec behind - (AFP)
