Seven die in yet another day of Iraq violence

Three soldiers and four soldiers have died in a spate of violence across Iraq.

A suicide bomber detonated a vehicles rigged with explosives in Anbar province near an army checkpoint. Three soldiers and four civilians were killed in the attack according to AFP.

In Salaheddin province, a suicide bomber blew up a vehicle near a police checkpoint. Three people were killed and seven were wounded in the attack.

A roadside bomb near a Shiite residence in Baquba killed one person and injured two.

Violence in Iraq has surged sharply and reached levels not seen since the U.S. occupation in 2008.  Tens of thousands of people were killed during the US war in Iraq.  Over 4,750 people have been killed in Iraq in 2013.
