AFP has reported that a suicide bomber has killed at least 34 people in Baghdad. The attack took place in the south Baghdad area of Al-Amil.
The café was frequented primarily by security and medical personnel. At least 26 people were killed in the attack. In addition, 39 people were injured.
Earlier today, eight suicide bombers killed six people in a wave of attacks in Baghdad.
Sunni Shia violence has grown alarmingly in Iraq and has reached levels not seen since the 2006 -2007 civil war.
With today’s attacks, more than 410 people have been killed so far this month, and over 5,100 since the beginning of the year, according to AFP figures based on security and medical sources.
