In a bid to consolidate its leadership position in the Bahraini market, Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo (EKK) Group, the exclusive distributors for Toyota and Lexus in the Kingdom, has signed a major agreement with Raya, a leading player in the field of IT and telecommunications in the Middle East, to implement an advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

The implementation of the ERP system, based on Oracle E-Business Suite, will enable E.K. Kanoo to further automate the business processes and applications in the company. The project involves implementing new integrated systems covering a broad range of business functional areas, including Human Resources Management, Finance and Administration, Logistics, Customer Relationship Management, Marketing Sales, After Sales, Spare Parts, Facilities and Maintenance.

The implementation is expected to reduce administrative costs, increase work efficiency and enhance communication between the company and its clients and suppliers. The transition to an integrated, fully automated system will also foster internal communication improvements amongst the various Group departments, leading to increased productivity and job satisfaction.

E.K. Kanoo’s decision to select Raya was based on the IT major’s extensive experience in implementing large-scale automation projects for leading automotive companies in the GCC and the Arab countries. In addition, Raya’s comprehensive service portfolio, which includes planning, project management, training, maintenance and after sale services, provides E. K. Kanoo with the level of expertise and support required to implement a project of this scale.

Mohammed Kanoo, President of EKK Group, said, “This strategic investment will help create a state-of-the-art operational and technology environment that enables us to reinforce our market leadership and increase employee satisfaction. Furthermore, the implementation of this project will significantly enhance our ability to deliver world-class customer service, which has been at the forefront of the Group's strategy since its inception. Being a regional IT leader, Raya is uniquely positioned to implement cutting edge technology solutions, and leveraging their experience and expertise will allow E.K. Kanoo to realize its strategic objectives.”

Ali Sakr, General Manager of Raya Gulf, said, “Supporting employees to adapt, understand and utilize the new system, as well as linking and integrating various organizational functions, will be the most significant challenges facing Raya and EKK in implementing this project. We are confident that Raya’s deep understanding of the business requirements of the GCC market, combined with its team of highly qualified personnel, will enable it to effectively overcome these obstacles. Being able to combine local cultural and linguistic knowledge with leading edge business processes allows us to deliver a solution tailored to meet EKK’s requirements.”

“We are delighted to join hands with E.K. Kanoo Group, who are the leaders in the Bahraini automotive segment. Our partnership with EKK follows a series of successful partnerships with major GCC companies across a variety of sectors,” said Ashraf Sabry, Vice Chairman and CEO for IT, Raya Gulf. “Raya is looking at the GCC region as an extremely promising market, and will seek to further expand our presence in the region by partnering with more frontline companies.”
