Batelco Supports Employees’ Ramadan Expenses and Distributes Gargaoon Gifts

As part of its support for staff during the holy month of Ramadan, Batelco recently paid all its employees a special Ramadan allowance.

Payment of this allowance is one of a series of benefits that Batelco gives to its employees that aim to improve their well-being and encourage further productivity; especially in light of the feverish competition that the telecom industry is witnessing locally and regionally.

“We realize the extra costs that normally come with the holy month of Ramadan and the employees’ need to make available special food stuff to ensure the whole family live the special moments of this month,” said Batelco Board Secretary and Company Spokesman Ahmed Al Janahi.

“This is why the company management took the initiative and paid Ramadan special allowance to all staff to help them with part of the exceptional costs they bear during this holy month,” he added.

Additionally, Batelco HR unit – in co-operation with Corporate Affairs Department - distributed gargaoon gift baskets to all staff marking the occasion of mid-Ramadan (Gargaoon) that most Moslems across the world celebrate. The baskets contained various types of nuts that are traditionally given away on this occasion.

This gesture was very well received by staff, who expressed their thanks and appreciation to the company management, represented by the Corporate Affairs Department, and hoped that it would be an annual habit for many years to come.
