Fiorentina's Argentinian forward Gabriel Batistuta will play next season for Italian Serie A rivals AS Roma, Italia Uno TV channel reported Tuesday.
Italia Uno maintains the prolific scorer has verbally agreed a deal, days after talks between Roma president Franco Sensi and his agent Settimio Aloisio at Sensi's home in the Parioli district Tuesday.
Sensi revealed 48 hours ago that he had made Batistuta a huge offer.
The player immediately departed for Buenos Aires after his talks with Sensi, the TV channel insisted.
"Batigol" is also believed to be coveted by Inter Milan although Aloisio has previously said that his client will not consider any offers from outside Italy despite the reported interest of outgoing European champions Manchester United.
The Argentinian - a veteran of two World Cups - has scored 152 goals for Fiorentina - breaking the previous record of 151 by Swede Kurt Namrin with a hat-trick in his last match against Venezia - (AFP)
