"Mr. Alani's appointment caps an eventful year marked by the successful completion of several initiatives designed to rapidly expand our advisory service capabilities," said Mr. Robert J. "We launched Behringer Harvard Investment Management, our real estate advisory services platform, in the United States and Europe early this year. We are now extending our advisory services business to the Middle East under the leadership of Mr. Alani. We expect these milestones--which were all achieved in just one year--to create synergies that will significantly enhance the global presence we're building for Behringer Harvard."

Mr. Alani has Middle Eastern business and family relationships that span the greater part of the Arab Gulf world. His father, Dr. Salman H. Alani, is a professor of Arabic linguistics and phonetics at Indiana University and a world-renowned scholar who frequently visits the Arab Gulf region as a guest lecturer.
