LUX Fashion World 2005 came to a fitting end in the region's fashion capital recently. The highly successful event featured world-rloenowned and fast-rising Arabic designers who displayed glamorous fashion ensembles that incorporated the region’s cultural distinctiveness.
Beirut likewise witnessed the introduction of popular Lebanese singer Elissa as the new star of LUX in the region, representing the essence of LUX women all over the world: glamour, confidence and individuality.
This fourth edition of the region’s biggest fashion event, held in Biel, Beirut was the venue for the region’s leading designers. The first day showcased top Lebanese designer Abed Mahfouz whose haute couture collection called "Al Halimah" (The Dreamer) highlighted confidence in women.
Famous Saudi fashion designer Zaki bin Aboud, meanwhile, dazzled her guests with a collection featuring bright and glamorous colors inspired by coral reefs.
The second day featured upcoming Saudi Arabian fashion designer Fawzeya AL Nafea who displayed stunning designs in simple styles and cuts. Her collection was named "A Message to Grandchildren, From Your Grandmother."
Hani El Beheiry then showcased her own collection entitled "A Woman With Several Personalities" that highlighted exclusive designs reflecting the essence of Arabian Women. Beheiry's work was inspired by a comparative study he conducted on the latest designs and materials used worldwide.
The third day saw Kuwaiti fashion designer Awatef Al Hai present a wide range of haute couture designs. The show's finale featured Hanna Touma, another popular Lebanese designer, whose collection "Hot Summer Ensemble" fascinated the audience using a mixture of metal and silk with intricate beading, leather, lace and precious crystals.
New Lux endorser and Lebanese superstar Elissa, world-renowned Lebanese designer Khaled El Masri, participating designers and their guests, top Unilever executives, MBC, Nathaly's Agency, and Miss Lebanon 2005 attended an exclusive gala dinner held the following day.
The gala dinner started off with well-known LBC presenter Caroline welcoming the guests, followed by a competition to award the most talented upcoming fashion designer. The jury was composed of high profile personalities, including Khaled El Masri and Elissa.
Participants from Lebanon, Egypt, Bahrain, KSA and Oman showcased their designsw, with Carole Bu Khaled from Lebanon being selected as the most talented upcoming fashion designer. The five other participants were awarded with certificates.
LUX Fashion world 2005 was covered exclusively by MBC, the region’s leading TV network. MBC will broadcast this event in November through its channels, which reaches over 130 million Arabic speakers around the world. LUX fashion world 2005 was exclusively organised by Nathaly’s Agency in Beirut.
