Under the patronage of the Head of the Syndicate of Nurses, Mrs. Claire Zablith, Bellevue Medical Center (BMC) announced the launching of two free training programs for practical nurses, opening its doors to training and increasing awareness of the importance of nursing and patient care in Lebanon. This announcement was revealed in an event that was held at the Bellevue Medical Center and attended by Mrs. Zabith, BMC’s General Manager Dr. Ghassan Maalouf, BMC’s Quality Director & Patient Care Services Ms Rita Naccache, and a number of individuals from BMC’s management and nursing teams.
The ceremony began with the distribution of honorary certificates to all of the hospital’s nurses, praising them for their genuine commitment in offering patients complete medical care, personal support, and ensuring their comfort at all times. Following this token of appreciation, the head of the Syndicate of Nurses, Mrs. Zablith, addressed the audience on the importance of the nursing profession and proceeded with disclosing the syndicate’s five-year strategic plan aimed at protecting all nursing professionals’ rights and offering them full support, while working on further developing the nursing vocation through means of academic and training programs.
General Manager of BMC, Dr. Maalouf, proudly said, “Bellevue Medical Center is pleased to open its doors widely in welcoming new candidates interested in the field of nursing. We recognize the importance of this profession in complementing our own role as medical practitioners. Any treatment we prescribe would not give the needed results if it were not for the supervision, care and support of the nursing team.” He adds, “I, myself a doctor, have spent my life in admiration and holding high respect for nurses. Starting next year, the management will be releasing a string of new decisions that will make nurses prominent partners in this institution, which in turn will make us an even stronger family offering the highest patient care and service.” Speaking to the nurses, Dr. Maalouf then said, “If it weren’t for you, we could have never opened up 100 beds within six months.”
BMC will launch its first program, a one-year training course for Internal Practical Nurses during the first week of July, with a second one-year course following six months after. This program will consist of 20 sessions of theory instruction and 20 sessions of practical training, covering an extensive range of specialties resulting in trainees benefiting from comprehensive exposure in the field. After completion of the program, all ‘passing’ trainees will be awarded with a Practical Nurse Certificate from BMC.
BMC’s second training program will be readily available for the public on a quarterly basis and will carry on for a week. This program, conducted by the hospital’s very own specialists, aims at increasing awareness of the importance of nursing and patient care and opens BMC’s doors to anyone interested in learning about and exploring this profession. The first one-week training program will commence on the first week of July and will involve a full overview of the Practical Nursing line of work, including both theory and practice sessions. The program will conclude with an assessment, in order to evaluate the trainees’ capabilities and true motivations, with future opportunities of employment at BMC.
Ms. Naccache adds, “By adopting the principle of ensuring the highest medical services and standards at all times, BMC is constantly working on cultivating and enriching its nursing team. Realizing the deficiency in the number of practical nurses in Lebanon, we decided to launch these two training programs to give those who love helping others a chance to share this passion,”
