Kids will be in for a treat this summer thanks to United Colors of Benetton and friends at Modhesh Fun City (MFC), who will be hosting the Benetton Cool Craft Competition from July 20 – August 4, as part of Dubai Summer Surprises.

Kids aged 7-14 can enter the competition by picking up their craft packs from one of the Benetton outlets at City Centre, Lamcy Plaza or Jumeirah Centre. The packs include art materials and an outlined drawing sheet of a girl or boy for whom kids can design outfits. Children can complete the art sheet in any way, using items like paint, crayons, glitter, cloth or any thing else that takes their fancy!  Once completed, all entries can be submitted at any Benetton outlet in Dubai until August 4, 2005.

“Keeping kids constructively busy in the summer is difficult, so this year we decided to give children an easy opportunity to express the artist in them! Benetton embraces the use of creativity and colour in all clothing lines and we are excited to see what kids come up with in our competition,” said Ajai Dayal, Retail Sales and Marketing Manager, for the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, sole distributor for Benetton in the UAE.

Little ones who are members of Modhesh Fun City’s summer camp can also take part in Benetton’s Cool Craft Competition through any one of MFC’s four art workshops being held at Deira City Centre between July 21 – August 4.

“By making a contribution to Modhesh Fun City’s art workshops, we hope to be an extension of all the wonderful activities MFC has been doing for children throughout the Dubai Summer Surprises,” concluded Dayal.

Modhesh Fun City will display all completed submissions at an exhibition at Deira City Centre, and an official from Modhesh Fun City as well as Benetton will pick the top three. The winners will be awarded Benetton gift vouchers worth AED2,000, AED1,250 and AED750 which will be presented at a Benetton kids fashion show at Modhesh Fun City on August 8.
