Benin’s Foreign Minister Antoine Idji arrived in Tehran Saturday for talks on bilateral issues with Iranian officials, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
Idji’s visit is at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Kamal Kharrazi, said the agency.
Upon arrival at the Tehran Mehrabad International Airport, he told reporters that he would convey to the Iranian authorities a message of friendship to the Iranian government and people on behalf of Benin's President Gen. Nathieu Kerekou.
He said “Iran and Benin enjoy common fate” while stressing that the two states would push forward with their attempts to boost the bilateral ties in all areas.
The diplomat also said he hoped that his visit would clear the way for further expansion of economic and trade bilateral relations.
