Digital lifestyle leader BenQ has announced a new addition to its award-winning LCD monitor lineup, the FP92V, featuring a coated screen, proprietary Senseye technology and integrated multimedia speakers.

Out of the estimated market size of 1.08 million sets for LCD monitors in the Middle East, BenQ aims to capture a substantial share in 2006. According to BNA research, BenQ ranks third in terms of LCD monitor sales in the region, whilst revenue growth for 2005 versus 2004 reached 35 per cent.

BenQ FP92V’s coated screen provides amazing contrast, brightness and sharpness and low reflection when gaming and watching DVD’s. The coated screen is also scratch resistant to a high degree. Targeted for users in a wide variety of environments, the monitor has two integrated one watt multimedia speakers providing a clear and vibrant audio experience, while conserving space. Equipped with both traditional D-sub and next-generation DVI input supports, the monitor can handle analog and digital inputs.

“We currently produce several of the most innovative LCD models in the world and our strategy for monitors is to have the widest range across a number of screen sizes of any brand in the market,” said Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa. “Customers are becoming aware of the benefits of LCD technology and this has converted into higher sales across the region. As the new generation of slim, stylish space-saving LCD monitors hit the market, and the average price stabilises, we expect rapidly accelerating sales for LCD monitors.”

The FP92V features BenQ’s proprietary ‘Senseye’ digital-enhancement technology that automatically and dynamically improves image quality, adjusts brightness and darkness levels, performs color-mapping procedures, and reduces jagged edges on images. Senseye also adjusts contrast, color and sharpness settings, which significantly enhances the display of pictures and graphics-intensive applications such as gaming, digital photos, and entertainment and professional multimedia presentations.

BenQ has opened new production lines to meet high levels of demand for LCD monitors and is shipping a larger volume of monitors to the region than ever before.

“Our own internal research at the end of last year showed there was a huge appetite for LCD monitors in the region, but demand has outstripped our most optimistic predictions,” added Bakshi.

The coated screen also features a 3H on the Mohs’ hardness scale that indicates a certain scratch resistant quality.
