Home theatres have become an integral part of consumer entertainment in the region and to keep pace with evolving consumer tastes, digital lifestyle leader BenQ has launched the new PE8720 home cinema projector with the world’s highest contrast ratio to provide exceptional viewing experiences.

The model has a 10000:1 ratio and features BenQ’s proprietary Advanced Continuous Electronic IRIS and Senseye technology, for uninterrupted viewing and listening pleasure, and a customised six-color setting function. Senseye technology enables the projector to deliver clearer high definition images; even the subtlest of hues such as natural pastels and skin tones to be accurately reproduced delivering brilliant, true-to-life color. As with human vision, Senseye automatically analyses image signals and adjusts the quality of bright and dark portions separately. That means dark images appear darker, and bright images appear brighter without sacrificing color saturation.

“With the increasing acceptance of DVD media, home theatres have now become an integral part of the consumer home entertainment scenario. As consumer tastes evolve, customising home entertainment packages according to individual tastes, lifestyles, budgets and room layouts will take priority. The PE8720 demonstrates how BenQ employs its innovative technology to further strengthen and improve the quality and features of our products. It adheres to BenQ’s brand promise in “Bringing Enjoyment and Quality to Life” by providing customers with exceptional viewing experiences,” said Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.

To provide a low noise environment for a real home cinema experience, the BenQ PE8720 operates at a whisper-quiet 23dB. This is made possible due to the unique side-exhaust fans and L-shaped inlet tunnels. BenQ’s patented side-exhaust fans lowers the internal ambient temperature, allowing for efficient cooling, by reducing fan RPM (revolutions per minute). To further reduce projector acoustics, BenQ also adopts two L-shaped inlet tunnels equipped with a sound dampening muffler and anti-vibration material in the Color Wheel holder.

Apart from superior image quality, the PE8720 makes it easy for users to adjust its settings. At the touch of one button, colour and light settings for frequently-used home applications can be adjusted. The model also features a customised six color setting function that offers users a direct, independent six-color adjustment of primary (RGB) and secondary (CMY) colors. This convenient function enables the user to change color preferences without affecting the original color settings of other colors preferences.

BenQ’s channel partners have welcomed the launch of the PE8720 and will support the product by offering after sales support and training.
