Sudanese President Omar Beshir will leave for Libya Wednesday for an emergency summit meeting of the Sahel and Sahara group of African nations, a Republican Palace source said.
Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman Ismail will, according to the source, accompany Beshir to the summit, which has apparently been called to discuss the conflict between Eritrea and Ethiopia.
Meanwhile, Eritrean refugees are entering Sudan in such great numbers as they flee fighting in their own country.
Sudanese authorities have had to move their transit camps further away from the border, the Sudanese interior minister said Tuesday.
"The massive influx of Eritrean refugees has made it necessary to move them to other places in the interior of Kassala State" in eastern Sudan, General Abdel Rahim Mohammed Hussein told journalists - KHARTOUM (AFP)
