The board of French first division club Marseille were Sunday awaiting the reply of Vasco da Gama's Brazilian boss Carlos Abel Braga, who has been offered the job as head coach, general manager Eric Di Meco told the AFP on Sunday.
"Nothing is done," Di Meco told the agency adding that "Abel Braga is one of the two possibilities with (Fiorentina coach Giovanni) Trapattoni. But it is true that with Trapattoni he is dragging his feet and it is hard. While nothing is signed I am waiting for Braga's reply.
"We are looking for a coach to protect (current Marseille coach) Bernard Casoni but it is he (Casoni) who will decide if he stays or goes."
Casoni, meanwhile, would not comment on the matter, saying he had been kept in the dark by the club.
Forty-nine-year-old Braga, contacted in Rio de Janeiro, refused to comment on the deal and wants first to finish the Rio tournament with his current team Vasco da Gama.
Braga speaks fluent French and was first approached by Di Meco in April - apparently after Di Meco was given a tip-off from outgoing Athletic Bilbao coach Luis Fernandez -- (AFP)
