The row between the Gulf States and Iran over the killing of a Shia cleric has escalated again as Kuwait withdraws its ambassador to Tehran on Tuesday.

According the the BBC, Kuwait has recalled its ambassador after the Saudi embassy in Tehran was attacked on Saturday following the execution of prominent Shia cleric Nimr al-Nimr, along with 46 others.

Since the attack, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Sudan have expelled their Iranian envoys, giving them 48 hours to leave the country.

The United States has urged for calm in the region, yet the conflict seems to be escalating nonetheless.
