Finally, the highly anticipated results are out! For the first time in the UAE, one couple has been selected as the BurJuman Bride and Groom of the Year.
In front of an enthusiastic crowd of media, guests and shoppers, three finalists were interviewed by a panel of high profile judges, comprising Akl Fakih, the internationally renowned designer, Samer Ghazi, Leasing Manager at BurJuman, Charlotte Proudman from IIR , and Rania Hattar from Dubai TV.
The decision was based on a series of light hearted and fun interviews with each couple, where each partner answered personal questions about the other without their partner being present. Nadine Tayyara and her fiancé, Ali Fakih, had the most matching answers.
More than a hundred hopeful couples have submitted their entries to become the BurJuman Bride and Groom of the Year since the announcement of the competition.
Industry experts have come together to make their dreams come true, donating the stunning array of prizes up for grabs, including an elegant wedding dress by Akl Fakih. The bride will complete her radiant look with a range of skin care products from BioKosma, a make-over from Character Make up, seductive lingerie from Chantelle. The wedding cake will be supplied by ChoCo’A and the bouquet from Dubai Garden Center. The groom will also have the perfect look in a suit from the Wedding Shop. Gabyphotos will make every moment an unforgettable memory and, as a perfect ending, Nadine and Ali will feel like they have stepped into a fairy tale when they stay at the splendid Khaleej Suite at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
‘We are so excited to the thought of helping a young couple realize their dream wedding’ said Charlotte Proudman from IIR. ‘ We are very happy for Nadine and Ali, as for the other couples, we would like to tell them that there are still a lot of surprises and prizes to be won at the Bride Show Dubai and we hope to see them there.’
Nadine Tayyara, the bride-to-be, said, ‘Ali and I have been planning for our wedding for the last 6 months. I can’t believe that finally our plans will be realized with the help of a wonderful team of experts. We are very happy and excited, and we would like to thank the Bride Show Dubai organizers and BurJuman and all the sponsors for helping us to make our dreams come true.’
Other young women and couples who are currently planning their wedding can meet the region’s top wedding suppliers and fashion designers at the Bride Show Dubai 2006, the largest event of its kind in the Middle East, which is under the patronage of HH Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Ladies Club, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs. It will take place from 4 to 7 April 2006 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
