BUiD Master programmes breed excellence in the workforce

The British University in Dubai (BUiD), the Middle East’s first research-based, post-graduate university, is fast-becoming a renowned institute that breeds valuable talent for the workforce, with a majority of its Masters students being recognised for excellence in their professions, it was revealed today.

With the goal of implementing strong innovative thinking among its students, and encouraging taught practices in the workforce, BUiD has seen a majority of its students secure prominent roles in their chosen careers.

One of BUiD’s Project Management students, Samira Al Jasmi, who is currently working in the IT department of Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (GASCO), recently received the ‘Positive People Environment’ award from the company’s IT division, which recognises her team communication skills, her professionalism, and commitment to completing tasks to the best standards.

“Completing my Masters programme at BUiD has helped me develop a strong working ethos and dedication to do my job,” said Al Jasmi, Network Admin, GASCO.

“My Masters programme at BUiD has provided me with the ideal skill set to help me develop within in my current role at GASCO, and I feel honoured to be recognised with an award for my efforts,” added Al Jasmi.

Dr. Muhammed Dulaimi, Senior Lecturer, Project Management, BUiD, said: “Al Jasmi has been implementing some of the ideas discussed in her lectures, especially the information relating to promotion of positive attitude to innovation. We are proud of her commitment to learning and we hope she achieves great success by applying her skills to further enhance her working environment.”

BUiD’s Masters programme in Project Management, offered in partnership with the University of Manchester, is designed to provide students with the practical skills and theoretical background to become a reflective practitioner able to initiate and implement. change and make valuable contributions to the industry and society.  Students that apply for the course come from a number of industry sectors ranging from the Oil and Gas, IT, Banking and Finance, and Construction.
