ALBAWABA - A fire erupted inside a building in Jakarta on Tuesday, killing at least 17 people, Indonesia's police revealed in a statement.
The fire was reported in a seven-story building in central of the capital, according to broadcaster Kompas TV. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, AFP reported.
Indonesian media confirmed that the blaze was later brought under control.
A clip was shared on the X platform showing a huge blaze generating a thick black smoke while several firefighters were at the scene trying to put out the fire.
