The Butch Harmon School of Golf at Dubai Sports City has announced the appointment of Peter Holland as Teaching Professional, following demand for top level instruction seen since its opening in February this year.

Having been involved in golf for 20 years at golf courses around the world, Holland brings a wealth of international expertise to the Butch Harmon School of Golf – the region’s premier golf instruction institute.

“Having Peter join our growing team further supports our central goal of providing the region with the very best golf instruction,” said Claude Harmon, Director of Instruction at The Butch Harmon School of Golf at Dubai Sports City.

“His professional capabilities and desire to improve player performance make him a welcome addition to the team, and I am confident his students will benefit from his vast experience and knowledge of the game,” added Harmon.

Having the opportunity to study world-class golfers such as Lee Westwood and Colin Montgomerie, as well as watch coaches Claude Harmon III, Bob Torrance, and Peter Cowen, has added to Holland’s vision and aspiration to help others reach their true potential.

Holland, a UK national, has held senior positions in golf, including Assistant Professional at The Montgomerie Dubai, Golf Operations Manager at Monte Rei in Portugal, and Director of Golf at Barolo Golf Resort and Spa in Italy.

In addition, Holland’s love of the game, fascination with ball flight, and the creation of speed within the golf swing have directed him to gain certification with the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), during his training in Orlando Florida.

Holland is successfully completing his PGA studies at degree level and is progressing further as a certified TPI golf fitness professional.

“The Butch Harmon School of Golf is the most advanced teaching facility for golf enthusiasts of all levels,” said Peter Holland, Teaching Professional, Butch Harmon School of Golf.

“Being part of a team of leading coaches at the Butch Harmon School of Golf is a major accomplishment. I am looking forward to producing local talent, which will further build on the school’s international reputation,” added Holland.

The Butch Harmon School of Golf, run by Claude Harmon III, is based next to The Els Club golf course in Dubai Sports City and is part of the Dubai Sports City Academies Campus.

Included within the Dubai Sports City Academies Campus is the Dubai Sports City Football Academy – the home of Manchester United Soccer Schools, Dubai; the WorldHockey Academy, a first of its kind partnership with the International Hockey Federation; a Swimming Academy with a 50 metre training pool; a Rugby Academy; the International Cricket Council’s own ICC Global Cricket Academy and a David Lloyd Tennis Academy.
