High Definition (HD) products are driving technology demand across the Middle East, with 60-70 percent of homes in the region now having access to multi-channel TV, according to Bharatbook.com, a business information services provider.
Industry insiders expect CABSAT MENA 2010, the region’s leading exhibition for digital media, to play an important role in providing a platform for global and regional players looking to significantly increase revenue from their HD products and services. Around 25% of the region’s large direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV industry is headquartered in the UAE, finds Bharatbook.com.
Now in its 16th year, the CABSAT MENA will be held alongside Satellite MENA exhibition pulling tens of thousands of exhibitors and attendees from the US, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. The global industry is eager to tap into a regional sector catering to more than 430 million media-hungry MENA residents keen to experience the latest in new technologies, such as HD.
“The dynamism and potential for growth of the local and regional markets for High Definition remains said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre. “CABSAT MENA is the only dedicated show that provides a platform for players in the HD space to demonstrate their technology and meet the growing demand for HD across the region.”
With HD already impacting the way we live, work and play, CABSAT MENA 2010 will focus on the latest state-of-the-art technologies and applications from the likes of Advanced Media Trading (AMT), Hitachi Broadcast, Sony Professional Solutions ME, Tek Signal, The Vitec Group / Camera Dynamics, and United Broadcast & Media Solutions (UBMS).
“The global media industry has changed more dramatically in the last ten years than in the previous century, with High Definition leading the industry benchmark, not just for broadcast but all HD associated technologies,” said Mousa Awad, Head of Product Marketing, Sony Professional Solutions. “Our decision to be part of such a significant event has come from our commitment to promote and support the Middle East’s rapidly growing digital industry.”
Industry developments across the region have been rapid, and CABSAT MENA has played a significant role in facilitating this growth.
“CABSAT MENA has always provided the right opportunity to network, given the high quality of visitors to the show,” said Paddy Roache. Director and General Manager Hitachi Broadcast.
“Hitachi has a strong presence in the Middle East. As a company we are growing at a rapid pace and CABSAT MENA offers us that necessary platform to showcase all the new and exciting technology Hitachi has to offer to the region,” added Roache.
Over the years, CABSAT MENA, and more recently Satellite MENA, has been a launch pad for major new technologies. This year industry insiders are looking forward to seeing new developments in the field of HD TV, Mobile TV, IPTV and CGA.
Satellite MENA has become the industry networking platform to explore business opportunities, formulate strategies and create partnerships for video, voice, data, and IP communications over satellite. Held in conjunction with CABSAT MENA, both events will provide great networking platforms to explore business opportunities, formulate strategies, and create partnerships.
Both components feature dedicated conference sessions at the show where international industry experts will offer a unique insight into the scope of new technologies.
CABSAT MENA and Satellite MENA 2010 will run from 2 – 4 March 2010 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The exhibitions are strictly for trade and business visitors only.
