CDC takes edge in using most advanced dental technology in entire Middle East

The Qatar- based Consultant Dental Centre (CDC) has become the first dental centre in the entire Middle East which has the Damon 3 system of orthodontics, one of the most advanced technologies being used across the world for dental treatment.

This is a passive, self-ligating method of correcting malocclusions. It uses brackets that do not require elastic o-rings to hold the wires in place. This system is being considered as advanced and comprehensive way of treating patients.

Consultant Dental Centre is being considered as one of the pioneers in Qatar in the arena of dental treatment. The centre is also known for being the first dental clinic in Qatar. It has a modern and pragmatic approach to the Dental Care.

The centre since its establishment is being looked after by a team of well- known doctors and dental professionals equipped with sophisticated equipments and state-of-the-art technology.

Better facial aesthetics, such as smoother cheek contours, make smiles look fuller as compared to the conventional systems.

Through the conventional method of treatment, teeth were tied in with elastics, which caused friction and pressure, making treatment slower and less comfortable.

Damon braces use a slide mechanism to hold the wire, which allows teeth to move more freely, quickly and comfortably. Damon3 braces are designed to be discreet, comfortable and easy to keep clean. Without the elastic ties which attract and collect plaque, Damon 3 braces make dental hygiene easy during treatment.

Explaining the operational mechanism of this technology, Dr. Asma R Al- Alami, CDC’s Director said that the self- ligating aspect eliminates the need for elastic or metal "ties". With Damon tie-less braces, treatment is imparted without tightening.

This system enables teeth to move faster and needs only fewer adjustments as compared to the conventional system. It aligns the teeth and enhances facial aesthetics - usually without extractions or rapid palatal expanders.

Highlighting the feature of the Damon 3 system, Dr. Asma said this technology is in most demand now as it reduces time- factor and replaces other parameters of conventional treatment. She said that CDC is proud to have such advanced dental technology and in future we shall use other advancements for treating our valued visitors.

She further said many people across the world use this method to give a refreshing and smart look to their personalities. This should not be merely considered as alignment of the teeth.

Dr. Asma said that the ultimate result is clinically proven performance embodying faster treatment, fewer appointments, improved patient comfort, exceptional results and wider arch development with fewer extractions as well as less reliance on surgery.
