The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) is set to make an historic impact at the second day of the Hometech exhibition, when President and CEO, Gary Shapiro, delivers the opening address at the CEA summit – the first time that anyone representing the world’s largest consumer electrical organisation has spoken in the Middle East. Other Executives from the CEA’s Board of Industry Leaders; including Noel Lee from Monster Cable and Jay McLellan, President and CEO, Home Automation Inc., as well as Todd Thibodeaux, CEA’s Senior Vice President of Industry Relations, are also scheduled to deliver remarks at the event. Produced by Messe Frankfurt and sponsored by the CEA, Hometech Middle East will run over the next two days until May 15 and is the region’s premier consumer technology exhibition.

Hometech Middle East 2007 was inaugurated yesterday by Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General of Dubai Department of Information and Mr. Shapiro’s opening keynote will take place today at 9 am, where he will discuss the future of the consumer electronics industry in the worldwide market and the global growth of the International CES, CEA’s flagship event and the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology.
Following Mr. Shapiro’s address, Todd Thibodeaux, the CEA’s Senior Vice President of Industry Relations,will moderate a frank panel discussion on at 10:30 am on the state of content delivery in the Middle East and how companies are reaching these consumers. Monster Cable’s Noel Lee will deliver his address at 2 pm., focused on the history and success of Monster Cable and the future growth and direction of the company. Jay McLellan, chair of CEA’s TechHome Division, will participate in a panel discussion at 2:30 pm., relating to the current range of home automation systems and growth opportunities within the market.
Hometech Middle East is the region’s leading tradeshow focused on consumer electronics, home automation systems and home appliances. The exhibition is the largest event of its kind in the Middle East for consumer technology, home automation and domestic electrical appliances. Approximately 300 companies will be exhibiting from 23 countries and it is anticipated that more than 5,000 visitors will attend over the three days.
