Young executives and professionals are demanding more from their handheld devices than voice calls and data services, revealed Globalnet, authorised distributors for Motorola in the UAE. Traditionally, efficient PDA’s have been the device of choice for on-the-move business users, but for an increasing number of fashion savvy professionals, mere efficiency is not enough.
“Today’s young professionals prefer smartphones like the Motorola A1200 that double as effective mobile offices and entertainment devices,” said Neal Barros, general manager Globalnet. “Features like music players, multimedia messaging and games are as important as email and internet access.”
The Motorola A1200 seamlessly integrates the ‘smart’ functionality of a PDA with the chic looks of a fashion-phone. “It is thirty per cent smaller and a hundred per cent better looking”, said Barros.
An innovative clear-crystal flip cover allows executives to view reminders and appointments without opening the phone. Features include MP3 player, FM radio, instant internet access and a 2 mega pixel camera that doubles as a business card scanner.
“The colour touch-screen, virtual key pad and handwriting recognition feature make text messaging so easy that I find myself using it all the time,” said Barros. “My business communication is more efficient and lot more cost effective ever since I started using the A1200.”
The Motorola A1200 features also multimedia messaging and Bluetooth wireless technology and supports Java-based games and other user-installable applications, as well as SIM-card applications.
“Today, using a mobile to just make voice calls and send text messages is like ordering a 7 course meal to just have a salad,” said Neal Barros. “We are living in the age of the smartphone and the A1200 represents the shape of things to come. It’s the chicest smartphone ever.”
