Clemenceau Medical Center (CMC) affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International, hosted a specialized medical symposium titled “Women’s Health” shedding light mainly on the risk factors, screening and diagnosing of malignant tumors that target women, especially breast and ovarian cancer, and the available modern treatment and preventive methods.
Selected by Johns Hopkins Medicine International to be one of its affiliate medical centers, CMC enjoys a global reputation of excellence, delivering the latest diagnosis and treatment services to patients in Lebanon and the region.
This symposium marks the cooperation between CMC and Johns Hopkins Medicine International, aiming at sharing knowledge and medical experience. Its importance also reveals in the fact that Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer affecting women around the world.
Dr. Mounes Kalaawi, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief of Surgery at CMC hospital, noted in a statement that the symposium is part of a comprehensive program that started 3 years ago in order to boost the exchange of expertise and knowledge between practitioners in both Johns Hopkins Medicine International and CMC hospital, and that it aims to bring the latest and best treatment and technology to improve the quality of health for our patients in Lebanon and the region.
Participants in the one-day symposium included Lecturers Deborah K. Armstrong , MD Associate professor of Surgery, Oncology ,Gynecology, Obstetrics Johns Hopkins Cancer Center; and Theodore N.Tsangaris, MD Associate Professor of Surgery, Chief of Breast Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology , and Director of Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center, the Lebanese American University Medical School , as well as attendees from top Lebanese hospitals and from the Lebanese Cancer Society, Lebanese Society of General Surgery, Lebanese Society of Medical Oncology, Lebanese Society of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
