Kuwait's coast guard arrested 321 foreigners trying to sneak into the emirate by sea in the first six months of 2000, a security official said Saturday.
Colonel Anwar al-Yassin, director general of the border security department, said the coast guard also seized 11 wooden ships during the same period for allegedly breaking the UN embargo against Iraq, the newspaper Al-Anba reported.
Yassin did not give the nationalities of the infiltrators, but most are believed to be Iranians trying to reach Iraq across the northern Gulf - KUWAIT CITY (AFP)
