In view of Al Aan TV belief in the importance of the woman role in the Gulf community and the need to increase awareness of her rights and concerns in the region, Ms. Zoya Sakr, the Head of Sales and Marketing at Al Aan TV, during a visit to Dar Al-Hekma College in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, announced the launch of a competition for the production of films based on the individual efforts of the college students on issues of concern to Saudi women, expressing their problems, concerns and dreams as Saudi women, innovatively taking the form of video films/movies or animation.
The idea of competition as to the summary provided by Ms. Sakr, aims at opening the doors to Saudi women to express issues concerning the Saudi society in general and Saudi women in particular, such as work, marriage and other matters via creative and innovative films. The students presented a large number of films of high cultural standing and great personal effort. Twelve films were selected in the first phase of the competition to be announced on the Al Aan channel website, and to be broadcast in various programs such as the two news programs Al Laila and Al Youm.
This initiative comes in the context of Al Aan channel strategy targeting in its programs modern women in the Arab world, and an opportunity to achieve the dreams of Saudi girls to engage in media work. The competition, which will run for a full academic year, will provide free training in Al Aan channel and the opportunity to work at the channel, in addition to valuable prizes for the participants during the competition.
