Congo's President Denis Sassou Nguesso is scheduled to arrive here on Wednesday for a two-day official visit during which he will have talks with his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni, an official statement said Tuesday.

"The discussions between the two presidents will center on bilateral issues as well as issues concerning the region," a State House press release said.

Nguesso will be accompanied by his foreign minister Rodolphe Adala and special presidential advisors Jean-Dominique Okemba and Jean-Yves Olliver, according to the statement.

The Congolese strongman visited Uganda in May, a trip he said was aimed at reviving his country's African diplomacy and to help prevent conflicts in central and east Africa, as well as to boost trade -- KAMPALA (AFP)
