Despite the current situation in global markets, Connaught Compliance Gulf Services have announced a move of its operations to a larger office premise in Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) to accommodate their new contracts across the Gulf, Turkey, Middle East and African countries. The new office premises located in the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone is almost double the size of their previous one.

Mr. David Lea, Managing Director of Connaught Compliance Gulf Services explains, “Our success in offering Health, Safety and Environmental Training and Consultancy to prestigious clients such as SERCO has translated into us needing a much larger office space. We have chosen to stay at DKV as all our success and accomplishments have been achieved there earning us a reputation for excellence and high standards in training.”

“In fact Mr. Amr Hassan Mostafa from Egypt, winner of the 2007/8 Best NEBOSH International Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety Candidate was trained by Connaught Compliance Gulf Services”, added Mr. Lea.

Connaught Compliance Gulf Services offers a full range of Health, Safety and Environmental courses both in-house and at training centers and now offers the IOSH Managing Safely in Construction course. IOSH is Europe's leading body for health and safety professionals, with nearly 33,000 members worldwide, including 13,000 Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners.

They have also introduced a range of Internal Auditor courses, in addition to a wide range of IOSH and NEBOSH courses. During 2008, the company continued as the leading UK provider of IOSH and NEBOSH courses by way of a 90% pass rate on the General Certificate with over 1,200 delegates achieving above national average results each year and almost 500 passing the NEBOSH International General Certificate.

NEBOSH, which stands for National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, is an independent awarding body based in the United Kingdom. Its International Diploma comprises four units, namely managing health and safety; hazardous agents in the workplace; workplace and work equipment; and application of health and safety theory and practice.

“The NEBOSH and IOSH courses, which are the ‘Gold Standard’ in the United Kingdom, are excellent for use in The Gulf States where there is a demand for the highest standard of training. When we first moved into the Gulf, many of our clients were based in the Oil and Gas industries; however we are finding that we are working closely with companies from the service and hotel industries, where attention to Health and Safety is just as critical”, Mr. Lea further added.

queen's school of business secures top spot on businessweek ranking

BusinessWeek magazine conferred the accolade on the Canadian institution for the third consecutive time in its influential biennial business school rankings.
Queen's offers a series of professional development courses in the UAE, covering sales management, strategy, marketing, operational leadership, human resources, governance, and finance.
Courses in Abu Dhabi are presented in partnership with CERT, the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training, and in Dubai with the Dubai International Finance Centre.
The BusinessWeek ranking is based on the results of questionnaires answered by corporate recruiters (45 per cent weighting) and graduating MBA students (45 per cent), as well as an analysis of "intellectual capital" that comes from faculty publications in 20 key academic and practitioner journals (10 per cent).
David Saunders, dean of Queen's School of Business, commented that two key audiences – recruiters and graduates – had again confirmed the school's world-class status.
"To be ranked first for the third time in a row is a great honour,” he said. “Our innovative MBA programme enables participants to personalise their academic experience at Queen's, and clearly it's an approach that works."
BusinessWeek's ranking of Queen's corroborates a 2008 survey by Environics Research Group that revealed that Canadian executives rank Queen's as offering the best overall student experience, the most innovative programmes, the highest academic quality, and the most sought-after graduates.
The complete results of BusinessWeek's 2008 business school rankings are now available online at www.businessweek.com.
